So often our babes from foster care come with so many labels attached because of the trauma they have experienced. What we often fail to understand is that they WANT to revive connection, care, reciprocation, it’s just such a long, long, way back.

This is why Removed is such an important film. It tells the foster care story from the child’s perspective. The heartwrenching removal from their home followed by move after move from one foster care home to another leaves them feeling like the girl in this powerful film says, “I am unseen, unheard, unwanted. That is what I am.” Often their perpetual movement within the foster care system is due to big complicated feelings that they themselves are sorting out and adults (yes, us) fail to understand in their true context.

Also, Blended community, wait to the end. The end is worth the tears that will flow because the girl in the film finds a solid loving placement in a transracial environment. {LOVE}
