Recently I had the honor of speaking at FEAST, a program offered by First Presbyterian Church in Vancouver, Washington. It is a community event at which they have dinner together and then learn together around a given topic. It was a joy for me to share about the Blended Family. While they wanted to learn about adoption and specifically transracial adoption, they were neither adoptive parents or involved in the adoptive community. Their community only had a desire to learn about our community thus enabling them to offer support to Blended families. Isn’t that wonderful? The amazing thing about the night was how many of them have been touched by adoption in some way. It was a wonderful night of learning and sharing of which I was so grateful to be a part.
